Despite the back-to-back celebrations, it’s fortunate that more designers and brands are slowly and surely dropping their Raya collections—copping the best baju raya in 2025 will be an enthralling process. While this indicates a healthy growth in the local fashion scene and more options for us to pick from, it can, however, be overwhelming especially since the preparations can get tedious as it doesn’t end at wardrobe choices.
In that case, reaching for a matching set—a design that most of the brands offer—is undoubtedly a good choice as they offer a complete and cohesive look without hassles and you will look “pull together” even if this is a last-minute scramble. A universal question that most of us encounter is, when and where else can we don these pieces aside from Hari Raya Puasa (or Eid) or rather, how can we infuse these pieces into our daily roaster? Answering our calls, brands like Hanya by Ezzati Amira and Kit Woo—with its newly debuted Raya collection, are introducing pieces that can be mixed and matched with our daily (contemporary) wardrobe.
Nevertheless, our tip is to never be afraid to incorporate these Raya pieces into your looks, even with casual denim jeans! It’s always fun to see how pieces vary in colours, textures or even patterns—if you are adventurous enough—work together.
Khoon Hooi

It’s not wrong to say that the little details matter, but at Khoon Hooi, it’s both the tiniest details and the overall silhouette that make every piece a stunner. Khoon Hooi’s 2025 Raya Collection introduces a refined selection of baju kebaya and baju kurung, inspired by the iconic local fashion figure, Saloma, from the 1950s. The collection features fabrics such as floral brocade, fil coupé, and velvet jacquard, combining tradition with a modern, elegant touch. Floral-printed chiffon, offering a soft, airy feel, is a new addition to the collection.
Additionally, a capsule of baju Kedah, crafted from intricate guipure lace and geometric jacquard fabrics, is featured. These pieces, with their structured shapes and unique hemlines, showcase Khoon Hooi’s skill in finding the balance between classic style and contemporary elements. The colour palette includes timeless black and white, soft muted tones, and bold jewel shades, creating versatile pieces that can easily be mixed and matched. Asymmetrical draping, pleats, and origami designs are accessorised with floral embellishments, crystal chains, and an array of brooches, adding an extra touch of sparkle to complete the ensembles.

Alia Bastamam

A master in creating the perfect silhouettes, Alia Bastamam’s Eid collection always tops our list. Inspired by nature’s rhythm, the 2025 collection features lines and shapes that are organic, highlighting her exceptional skill in draping, pinching or twisting. Taking it a step further, some of the dresses too were added with embellishments such as crystal tassels cascading along the neckline or skirts that are decorated with teardrop-like crystal.
While the pastel pieces exude a sense of serenity and elegance, the lustrous shades of midnight project confidence and sophistication. If you can’t pick between these camps, the ombre options would be right up your alley.

For its diffusion line Alia B, the designer put forth a comparably casual lineup, the Rhapsody. Drawing inspiration from the richness of post-colonial Malay, the versatile pieces feature whimsical motifs such as garden prints. From kaftan to wrap dresses, these pieces from Alia B are not just festive but also call for an island escapade.

Rizman Ruzaini
Not one but two releases, Rizman Ruzaini celebrates its 20th anniversary with two collections: the Couture Collection Mustika and the Anniversary Capsule Collection.
Bearing the symbolisation of a precious gem, the Mustika is a homage to Ruzaini’s late grandmother and summons up a sense of nostalgia linked to classic Malay films such as the Perempuan Melayu Terakhir—a cultural touchstone that inspired the collection. Taking centre stage in this collection is the kebaya, featuring designs that fuse both traditional and contemporary elements seamlessly—think pleats and velvet that make a perfect eveningwear assemblage—with embroidered motifs that are influenced by the Malay and Peranakan cultures.
While the Mustika features a rich jewel tones palette, the anniversary capsule is dipped in softer hues that work well for day events. Crafted with chiffon fabrics, the collection lays out eight different baju kurung, with details such as pleated sleeves or cinched waists. The clean and no-fuss silhouettes are tailored for those who prefer a minimal yet jolly festive look.

Kit Woo
Renowned for its unique approach to suitings, Kit Woo unveils its inaugural Raya capsule collection that explores the essence of heritage wear, blending them into the designer’s signature deconstructed cuts and gender-fluid silhouettes.
A collection that embodies both unwavering strength and grace, the designs are inspired by Silat, a treasured martial art rooted in Nusantara. Built upon traditional Malay garments, the designer showcased a lineup that is reinterpreted with modern tailorings, featuring elements such as sculptural drapes and layering, crafted with materials such as denim, chambray, and Oxford shirtings.
Even with a neutral palette like white, black, and indigo, the designer never plays on the “safe” side—details such as asymmetric collars or adjustable drawstring design on jubah, add subtle yet fun twists to a look. A traditional Samping for instance, is reimagined with well-structured contemporary designs like jetted pockets or a denim version featuring a raw selvedge edge detail and oversized patch pocket.

ANAABU

Comfort, practical, versatile. If that’s what you’re looking for in your next Raya look, ANAABU should be at the top of your list. The brand unveils its festive collection, a two-part collection that blends traditional garments with modernity—where each piece carries its signature androgynous yet clean flair.
Named Kongsi Masa, which directly translates to “shared times”, the collection celebrates the back-to-back Chinese New Year and Raya with a collection that features elements from both cultures. The first drop infuses the Chinese New Year essence with designs inspired by celestial symbols like the sun and moon, plus a unique Cempedak embroidery representing time—and a little nod to the curious cat (with its nine lives). You’ll see traditional Chinese wear elements like the mandarin collar and knotted buttons reimagined in Malay pieces with the Tiān Kebaya. The asymmetrical hem and linen blend too, tops off the look with a fresh yet classic flair.
The second part of the collection further explores the theme of time (with the Cempedak embroidery) while incorporating more Malay wear, including delicately embroidered Kedah tops and plaid knotted skirts. The standout piece? The Sulam Boxy Top, paired with its matching Knot Skirt. Available in three colours, the top features back embroidery that pays tribute to the craftsmanship of local village artisans. What’s great about the Kongsi Masa collection is that each piece—from tops to skirts—can easily be styled for everyday wear, aligning with the brand’s ethos of being sustainable.

Saleha x Atelier Fitton
For the very first time, newlyweds Siti Saleha and Joshua Fitton have collaborated to create a Raya collection, ‘Saleha x Atelier Fitton’. Inspired by nature, the collection features earthy tones of green, copper (reflecting the colours of rocks and boulders in Malaysian rivers), beige, and black. You’ll also notice a beautiful flow in the fabrics, with drapes that evoke a sense of tranquillity and serenity. The satin abaya ‘Nora’ is a perfect example, with its gentle, continuous movement offering a soothing sensation.
Each piece in the collection is named after a character portrayed by Siti Saleha in her drama series throughout her career as an actress, including ‘Humairah’, ‘Wangi’, and ‘Mia’. What we love about this collection is its versatility, allowing each piece to be worn either traditionally or in a more contemporary style. Each item is one-size-fits-all but can be wrapped and tied to suit your fit.
A portion of the sales from this collection will be donated towards the cleaning of rivers and ecosystems within the Klang Valley.

SHALS
“When two worlds collide, new light ignite”, reads one of the teasers for the Shals and Tangsi Tujuh’s collaboration for the Raya collection, “Gerhana”. Those familiar with our local fashion scene would know that while Shals by Shalma Ainaa excels in practicality and designs adorned with eye-catching details, Tangsi Tujuh on the other hand advocates slow living and emphasises comfort wear.
The collaboration brings forth minimally designed co-ords, with a neutral palette, drizzled with a hint of olive, sage and blush pink. Perhaps the most modernised Raya pieces we have on our list, skirts were added with asymmetrical organza panels, decorated with contrasting embroidery; tops like the Senja Cerah top came attached with shawls—like a hood—and the Mendung top made with satin is available with a sailor collar and an adjustable drawstring lace-up detail at the back that allow wearers to alter the fit accordingly. Ruched up or not, it’s all in your hands. If drawstring is not your cup of tea, the Kejora Pagi top comes with a wraparound sash that can be tied into a bow, either at the back or at the side.

BEHATI
A collection that is created upon the history of Kebaya—the utterly significant garment in Southeast Asia—BEHATI unveiled the ‘Qaba’ collection, along with a theatrical teaser video that sends chills down your spine.
At BEHATI, kebaya can be seen as a leisure co-ord crafted with metallic-accented traditional songket, complete with a palazzo trouser or a sculptural wearable art that features a well-cinched waist for a peplum effect. Kebaya is also presented as a tribute look to the ‘Gadis Kretek’, a classic Kebaya Janggan from Jawa, adorned with Malaysian elements such as a Chinese hand knot Pankou button, Indian Nehru collar and the hem on a Kebaya Nyonya. Kebaya can also be a ‘Cabaya’.
Despite being slightly less well-known than the other iterations, a ‘Cabaya’ is a genderless variation recorded in the longstanding fashion history since the 16th century, as a long tunic. And of course, at BEHATI, the significant Cabaya too, are made with metallic songket decorated with the motifs of our national flower, hibiscus.

Tangsi Tujuh

Those who frequent Tangsi Tujuh will know that everything they offer spells comfort and effortlessness. Short-sleeved Kebaya tops from the Petala 25 collection, for example, work wonders in our weather. Added with a ribbon bow at the waistline, this nice touch allows wearers to pick a silhouette of their own choice.
What catches our eyes is the embroidery and the batik prints, made by illustration art maker, KAWI. Motifs such as dancing birds and winged seeds that travel in the dense and lush forest can be found throughout the collection, either embroidered on the tops or featured in the batik that is painted in a soothing palette of sky blue and natural umber shade of brown.
Let us be the bearer of the good news because Tangsi Tujuh is also introducing a sub-line, Tangsi+, that is set to be released nearer to the celebration—made for you last-minute shoppers! With designs that are more experimental and bold compared to the usual laid-back tone the brand is well-known for, this collection is a call for adventurous wearers to want to explore and defy conventional, yet retain the enthusiasm for top-notch craftsmanship.
