Pia Wurtzbach is not wasting any time at the Cannes Film Festival. Going between parties and red carpet premieres, the GRAZIA Malaysia cover star has made a bold fashion statement with each one of her appearances at the French Riviera, quickly establishing herself as one of the best-dressed celebrities at the festival this year.
Wurtzbach came prepared, after all. Earlier in the week, the former Miss Universe took to Instagram to tease her glamorous Cannes wardrobe curated with the help of her stylist, Perry Tabora. We spotted tulle gowns and floral dresses by Carolina Herrera, and an array of high heels from Roger Vivier, Christian Louboutin and Gianvito Rossi.
What we didn’t see coming was the dramatic Stéphane Rolland couture dress that Wurtzbach wore when she stepped out for her first Cannes red carpet appearance of the week. The one-shoulder gown was draped in weighty silk gazar and embellished with a smattering of sequins, which sparkled beautifully along with Wurtzbach’s Bulgari jewels.
The rest of Wurtzbach’s Cannes looks this year have been no less impressive. So far, she has taken on the naked dress trend and opted for some great cocktail dresses. Most recently, the style star also had a Cinderella moment at the red carpet premiere of The Count of Monte Cristo, where she wore a blue ballgown with crystals.
Below, keep track all of Pia Wurtzbach’s best fashion moments at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
The cocktail dress
For the first stop on her Cannes itinerary, Wurtzbach attended Campari’s Cinémathèque event at Hyde Beach in a black Carolina Herrera cocktail dress. The sultry number featured a plunging neckline and a backless design, but the standout detail was the puffy tulle sleeves featuring floral appliques. To complete her femme fatale ensemble, Wurtzbach accessorised with Roger Vivier’s crystal-embellished satin clutch and a pair of I Love Vivier pumps.
The futuristic gown
Parisian designer Stéphane Rolland is known for his futuristic haute couture creations, and the dress that Wurtzbach wore to the premiere of The Apprentice was no different. Like something out of the set of Dune, the taupe silk gown featured an asymmetrical design and dramatic folds. Wurtzbach sported a sleek top bun that added to her otherworldly look.
The party dress
Wurtzbach turned heads at the Global Gift Gala with a daring dress by Ronny Kobo. Perfect for a night out, the midriff-baring design featured a ruched skirt and a slit—all the better for the model to show off her crystal-tassel strappy sandals from Alexandre Vauthier.
The naked dress
At the screening of Parthenope, Wurtzbach made quite the style statement with a metallic mesh dress from Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2024 haute couture collection. Wurtzbach’s take on the naked dress trend, which was also championed by Bella Hadid at Cannes this year, was high on sophistication as she completed her ensemble with silver Bulgari jewellery.
