At Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2025 show, the audience found themselves amidst printing presses—emblems of information—challenged to decode fact from fiction with Polish artist Goshka Macuga‘s ‘The Truthless Times,’ a provocative exploration of truth, deceit, and misinformation. This mise-en-scène provided the perfect backdrop for the collection, which probes themes of vanity, self-perception, and the experience of early youth.

Closing an eventful Paris Fashion WeekMiuccia Prada embarked on an ambitious multidisciplinary journey for Spring/Summer 2025. With this collection, the first of many ‘cultural dialogues’ with groundbreaking female artists and filmmakers over thirteen years, the designer wanted to examine and pull apart notions of truth and deception.

True to her enduring style, Prada’s vision was one of raw simplicity: a return to the honesty of youth, where individuals remain uncorrupted by the dissimulation of adulthood. A white cotton dress, pure and unadorned with a winsome allure, sets the initial tone. Collaborating with Petit Bateau, the collection reimagines childhood staples, reconstructing them through a lens of maturity. Elsewhere, we see ‘wrong ways of wearing’ come through, with sweaters repurposed as tops, shirts twisted, and chemisette dresses manipulated into bustier forms, invoking a deceptive glamour that belies their origins and function. Outerwear that appeared ostensibly as nylon, turned out to be silk, further evoking a sense of deception.

This season’s cast of fierce individuals turned the runway into a game of Spotto, too. Models included Willem Dafoe, Hilary Swank, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung, Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban (daughter of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban) and more. As figures known for inhabiting fictional realities, they embody the Miu Miu world this season with their own sense of veracity and identity, mirroring the collection’s themes of manipulation and integrity.

With Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2025, Prada pushes the limits of simplicity, offering clothing that is both a reflection of inner purity and a subversion of reality and truth.
