The cat’s out of the Louis Vuitton bag. Blackpink member Lisa has officially been named as ambassador for the French luxury brand, confirming the end of her tenure as global ambassador for another LVMH-owned fashion brand, Celine.
The news may not come entirely as a surprise to fans of the K-pop star. After all, the Rockstar singer has been hinting at her love for Louis Vuitton for a while now. On Instagram, Lisa has shared several photos of her vast collection of Louis Vuitton handbags, which include everything from new designs to rare, collectible pieces from the maison’s past collaborations with artists. True to her bold and adventurous sense of style, Lisa has worn her Louis Vuitton bags for very different occasions, emphasising the versatility of her designer accessories.
Below, take a closer look at Lisa’s extensive collection of Louis Vuitton bags.
Low Key Shoulder Bag
At the F1 Monaco Grand Prix this year, Lisa was locked in with her Louis Vuitton Low Key Shoulder Bag. It’s one of the maison’s newest designs, and as its name suggests, it boasts an understated look that will appeal to quiet luxury fans. Instead of the brand’s signature monogram, the bag features a simple metal padlock engraved with the LV logo.
Louis Vuitton x Sun Yitian Nano Speedy
Lisa boasts quite a few artsy accessories in her Louis Vuitton bag collection. One of them is this exclusive edition of the Nano Speedy bag, which is from the maison’s collaboration with the Chinese artist Sun Yitian. The collaboration, which launched this year, incorporated playful motifs from Sun’s paintings of animal toys. Here, a black and white dog is the star of the Nano Speedy bag. Sun’s adorable painting is rendered in the form of a leather patch that has been embroidered onto Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram canvas.
Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Pumpkin Bag
One of the rarest collector’s pieces in Lisa’s wardrobe comes from Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama in 2023. The Pumpkin Bag is carefully crafted in bright yellow grained leather to resemble Kusama’s famous polka-dotted artwork, on top of being embossed and printed with the Louis Vuitton monogram. The bag has a magnetic closure in the shape of a pumpkin stem and can be carried as a crossbody with its chain strap. Lisa is one of the lucky few in the world to get her hands on the artistic accessory—one of the perks of being a Louis Vuitton girl, perhaps.
Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse Alma PM Bag
Another Louis Vuitton holy grail in Lisa’s collection? The Alma PM handbag from the brand’s 2001 collaboration with the American designer, Stephen Sprouse. The collaboration, conceived by then-Louis Vuitton designer Marc Jacobs, marked the collision of fashion and art. Lisa’s Alma bag features Sprouse’s graffiti-style lettering that reads “Louis Vuitton Paris”, instead of the brand’s classic monogram. The Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse collection has been getting some renewed attention lately, even though it sold upon its release more than 20 years ago. Fellow style star Rihanna was recently spotted in New York with a similar Alma bag from the collaboration.
Pic Trunk Monogram
When attending Nicolas Ghesquière’s 10th anniversary Louis Vuitton fashion show this year, Lisa flaunted what appeared to be a camera, but was actually the maison’s Pic Trunk Monogram bag. The K-pop star has confessed that the cute accessory is among her favourite Louis Vuitton bags, and understandably so. Introduced for the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the minaudière is crafted from monogram canvas and gold-tone metal hardware and features a lens cap with the LV logo. The bag comes with its own shoulder strap, much like a real camera, and a cognac leather case.
Capucines East-West MM
For Lisa, a black handbag goes a long way. And quite literally so, in the case of the Louis Vuitton Capucines East-West MM that she wore to the 2024 Coachella music festival. The bag offers a fresh, elongated spin on Louis Vuitton’s iconic handbag. Crafted from matte Taurillon leather, the bag’s all-black design also perfectly suited Lisa’s monochromatic ensemble for the day.
Around Me PM
Pumpkins and cameras aside, Lisa has also championed another unconventional bag silhouette: a circle. The K-pop star was seen at a dinner with the Louis Vuitton Around Me PM handbag in black and white. The bag, which was launched in Spring/Summer 2024, takes its shape from the maison’s LV Circle emblem. Aside from its top handle, the bag can also be carried with a removable and adjustable leather shoulder strap.
Sunset Bag In Monogram Denim
For many reasons, Lisa stood out against the scores of Taylor Swift fans at the American pop star’s Eras Tour concert in Singapore earlier this year. One of the reasons is her choice of accessory: the Louis Vuitton Sunset bag, which is one of the noteworthy pieces from the maison’s LV Remix collection. Instead of leather, the vintage-looking bag is crafted from stonewashed Monogram Denim canvas, giving it a very youthful, Y2K look. The blue denim also contrasted Lisa’s all-black ensemble, which may be a nod to Swift’s Reputation era.
