Tod’s has joined forces with internationally renowned photographer Tim Walker to create The Art Of Craftsmanship—a loving ode to the time-honoured tradition of craftsmanship and Italian ingenuity through an exhibition of images and videos filled with creativity and irony. Walker rose to prominence in the mid-1990s with his highly imaginative and fantastical photographs. His exuberant fashion pictures and inimitable portraits have graced the pages of prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, and i-D, among others, cementing his position as one of the most sought-after photographers in the world.
The project was unveiled during Milan Design Week 2023, where the whimsical showing was met with positive feedback. The exhibition brings together an unexpected partnership between the Italian house and Walker, and the end result was a meeting of humorous absurdity, all while showcasing the exceptional work behind the creation of Tod’s iconic pieces.
The exhibition features life-sized displays that bring to life the series of images shot by Walker, making the showcase interactive and immersive. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the famed Di bag alongside other timeless icons, as well as the various tools used by artisans in their creations.
A rare opportunity to witness the art of craftsmanship at its finest, the beauty and elegance as a result of the unorthodox pair has successfully won over the hearts of fashion’s new generation of consumers thanks to the witty perspectives offered by Walker.
As the brand playfully teases the arrival of the exhibition in Singapore, and the launch of an exclusive capsule collection available at Paragon come 13 October—here’s a sneak peek of what’s to be expected at the exhibition as it makes a pitstop in Singapore.
