Harry Styles has been a fixture in the fashion world since his post-One Direction glow-up, constantly inspiring us to push the boundaries of convention with his genderless approach to personal style. But up until now, he’s only made a business of his affinity for nail polish and fragrance with his company, Pleasing. Finally, though, Styles has ventured into apparel.
Titled ‘Wet, Hot, Pleasing Summer,’ the Summer 2024 range is part of an exclusive drop with Selfridges, including 25 genderless pieces that range from around $130-$415 and can be mixed and matched at your discretion.
As far as the design goes, the collection is teeming with funky camp shirts in cotton-linen blends, coordinating short sets, sweats, jersey t-shirts, light jackets, and even canvas tote bags, all rendered in sunny tones, rainbow motifs, wavy stripes, and geometric prints. Think retro beachwear or “a wink and a nod to the nostalgia of summer breaks spent home alone while mom and dad are at work,” as the brand’s Instagram notes.
To celebrate the collection release, Styles’ long-term stylist, Harry Lambert, shared some behind-the-scenes polaroids of the collection’s sun-soaked campaign shoot.
“Colour, joy, a sense of openness and warmth are part of our DNA and considerations when designing,” said Lambert in an interview. “Queerness and joy, to me, come hand in hand, which is why these colourful, Pride-influenced references can be seen at play here.
