Every year in April, festival-goers around the globe flock to the Colorado desert, dressed to the nines in their best bohemian ensemble as they enjoy the pulsating music and liberating ambience of Coachella. With Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat and Tyler The Creator headlining this year’s event, Coachella was nothing short of spectacular. Aside from their soulful live vocals accompanied by melodic rock instrumentals, it was the performers’s sartorial choices that were the star of the show.
When it comes to festival fashion, you can never go wrong with sequins or jewels. Lana Del Rey, Sabrina Carpenter and Le Sserafim rocked the bedazzled look with plenty of sparkle and shine. Lana Del Rey wore not one but two custom Dolce & Gabbana dresses resplendent in a gorgeous baby blue hue and embellished with Swarovski crystals. As brand ambassadors of the French luxury house, it’s hardly surprising that the K-pop girl group, Le Sserafim made their Coachella debut decked out in custom Louis Vuitton specially designed by Nicolas Ghesquière. The girls wore sequined tube tops and asymmetrical skirts that featured the house’s signature Damier pattern. Sabrina Carpenter, known for her feminine flirtatious style, tapped into one of the season’s biggest fashion trends: the micro mini skirt. The pop princess sported a pleated mini skirt complemented by a snake-skin jacket and rhinestone-embedded top from Robert Cavalli.
Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani revived ‘90s grunge fashion as she graced the stage in a tartan jumpsuit paired with fishnets and a pair of Dr Martens. Adding to the eclectic mix, Shakira made a surprise appearance and channelled bohemian chic donning a red-yellow ombre knit dress designed by Natalia Fender.
