Looking back, there were many iconic moments in fashion in the year 2023. From celebrity fashion like Beyonce’s stunning custom looks for the Renaissance Tour, the comings and goings of creative directors of different fashion houses, or even resurging trends like Mary Janes and everything-bows, this year has been a lot.
Conventionally, we measure fashion by seasons—spring, autumn, Haute Couture, and everything else in between. But since fashion and social media are basically inseparable, the defining fashion moments are essentially what went viral—what piqued interests and got people talking, and the best, broke the Internet.

Although the Schiaparelli velvet column dress sat faultless on Kylie Jenner, the lifelike lion head on her shoulder sparked an uproar on the Internet as many mistook the head for an actual piece of taxidermy. Schiaparelli later clarified, “No animals were harmed in the making of this dress” in caps.
