With spacious private rooms for you to host a hotpot party, as well as a bar that offers eight inspired cocktails and eight thirst-quenching mocktails, you’re bound to frequent this joint—especially if you’re a taste thrill chaser.

Alva KL
A sky dining and grill restaurant, the Alva KL quickly became a favourite among the locale, families specifically, not only because of its flavour-packed dishes or the stone-age inspired intimate bar, but also an impeccable view—the KLCC, KL Tower and Exchange TRX tower lit up, all in one frame.
Perched on the 99th floor of Ascott Star KLCC, you get to choose between a diverse array of dishes, from grilled seafood and meats to pasta and risotto. Food aside, Alva KL is also a nice spot for a glass, or two, hand-crafted cocktails and Luc Belaire Rosé from France.
Address: Level 99, Ascott Star KLCC, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, 50450, Kuala Lumpur
Savor
Here’s where you would go to revel in plant-based cuisine. Before you scroll away, just know that at Savor, you won’t even miss the taste of meat. In fact, it’s such a hit with their formerly delivery-only customer base that they now have trekked on to hosting more at their brick-and-mortar location in Sri Hartamas.
Once you’re sat in the plush environment, you will see a decadent offering of all things vegetables (we thoroughly enjoyed the zingy Sarawak Laksa and Irish Shepherd’s Pie), as well as nourishing smoothies and soothing fruit teas. Caffeine addicts, you won’t find a drop of coffee here, though, so come with a buzz of your own.
Address: 38G, Jalan 28/70a, Desa Sri Hartamas, 50480 Kuala Lumpur
Matcha Eight
Okay, this one’s technically not a restaurant. Opening at the newest shopping address in town, Matcha Eight will be unveiling its second ice cream parlour on 29 November 2023. With a new concept up their sleeves, as well as a unique dessert and drinks menu, it would be a treat to pretty much anyone with a sweet tooth, but especially matcha lovers.
Here’s what’s waiting for you at the new haunt. The brand’s seasonal platter, Crazy Rich Matcha with matcha syrup ice cream, traditional warabimochi, and more. It’s not just your typical ice cream parlour though. With each scoop and slurp, you will be experiencing a master’s work. Kyoto’s Chef Takuji Takahashi has sprinkled some of his magic into the creations here.
Address: The Exchange TRX, Persiaran TRX, Tun Razak Exchange, 55188, Kuala Lumpur
Little Cup
Happy news, folks in the vicinity of Plaza Batai can now get their Flaaah fix at Little Cup, the latest (and tasty!) addition to the dining and retail destination. The most interesting bit about this cafe is that it transforms into a bar, named Kura, at night. Compared to its Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown, KLCC, and The Five addresses, Little Cup gives you a small reprieve from the city’s hustle and bustle, as well as better accessibility, especially if you drive.
Address: Lot 8-3, Plaza Batai, Bukit Damansara, 50490, Kuala Lumpur
Core Cafe
Ara Damansara is slowly but surely growing into a thriving location for cafes. Opening soon, Core Cafe is a family-run space that will make you feel right at home. Set to open soon, this cafe offers a host of pastries and cakes on top of its espresso-based and filter beverages. It also plans to expand the menu down the line, with talks of including dishes like sando and donburi into the fold.
Address: 80, Jalan PJU 1A/42B, Ara Damansara, 47301, Petaling Jaya
