A chatty positivity playful (Jupiter in Gemini) mood at odds with a more sombre vibe (Saturn in Pisces) reach a peak early in the week. It’s a discord that’s been growing for a while, and while last week may have felt kind of manageable, this week, there’s no way to avoid it.
It sort of feels like being squashed between your “fun” aunty and your not-as-fun (read: miserable) cousin. It’s a vibe that’s probably not far off many family Christmases, but this year, you’ve got the heads up (hint: get to lunch early so you can choose your seat). I
Later in the week, there’s more Saturnian action, as you – or someone you know – encounters a hard “no”. At least the arrival of a fun but unexpected person (27 December AEST and 28 December GMT) will lift the mood.
ARIES AND ARIES RISING
If you’re still hitting those HIIT class hard, give yourself permission to take a break this week. There’s a growing strain building between your need to “go go go” and your actual need to “rest rest rest”. Never has there been a better time to do the latter. While there’s plenty of drama firing around you, your best bet is to concentrate on getting some recovery time in. If your siblings decided to take awful Uncle Shane to task at Christmas lunch, let them. You don’t have to be in the fray for every fight. If you’re travelling after Christmas, the stars suggest things could take longer than you’d like. Expect delays, build in more time to get to the airport and you’ll manage just fine.
TAURUS AND TAURUS RISING
Guess who’s coming to dinner? There’s some curve ball energy coming your way this week (peaking around the 27 AEST, 28 GMT) with the chance of a very pleasant albeit unexpected tête-à-tête on the cards. It’s the sort of energy where you could run into an old boss somewhere random, and get talking about what you’re up to and what you have planned for next year. Keep it light, but also, don’t rule out that a chance run-in could lead to something exciting career wise. If ever there was an excuse to get out and about after family Christmas festivities wrap up, this is it.
GEMINI AND GEMINI RISING
Finding a balance between work and your personal life could feel particularly tricky this week – especially in the lead up to Christmas. Even if you’ve officially finished up at the office for the year, your greatest challenge will be actually switching off. What do you need to put in place to allow yourself the time and space to legitimately wind down? It’s been an intense year, especially on the work front, so gift yourself a little R&R – a float, soak, anything that helps you calm your nervous system and totally bliss out. The days after Christmas (27 – 28 AEST and GMT) look especially nice for some solitude and pampering so get organised now, and book it in!
CANCER AND CANCER RISING
With the most family-filled time of the year, you should be in your element but with the moon in its darkest phase, don’t be surprised if you’re feeling a little more low-fi than usual. Being selective about where you go, or how long you stay could be exactly what’ s needed to keep you feeling grounded this week, as some collateral confrontations drain your batteries. A surprise message or meet up with a friend after Christmas (27 – 28 AEST and GMT) could be the highlight of an otherwise very full on week. Keep your calendar open to spontaneous catch-ups that will nourish your soul.
LEO AND LEO RISING
There’s a mismatch of expectations early in the week between those who have come to party, and those who have not. Even though you usually belong to the former camp, with Mars retrograde still very much in your business, you’re probably leaning towards the latter. Don’t push yourself when things feel too much. Anywhere you go this week, be organised with how you’re going to get out of there. If you’re coupled up, agree on an exit strategy/time. After Christmas there’s a sweet little burst of spontaneity that could have your other half feeling a little bit romantic. Even if it’s in their own funny (read: not very romantic) way, enjoy it. It could just be the highlight of your week.
VIRGO AND VIRGO RISING
There’s a lot of intensity and discord around family this week – but you probably didn’t need your horoscope to see that one coming. Even still, knowing that it is also in the astro weather, can sometimes be strangely comforting, even validating. Your biggest challenge will be staying present and calm when, and if ,things go awry. The mood is less “epic show down” and more “disconnect in expectations”. You can try to mitigate the damage by being extremely clear with what your plans are, and what you’re expecting from everyone else. This is not the week to turn up to a lunch unexpected (although that’s really not your style). If you do get the chance to sneak off, especially something spontaneous after Christmas, go for it – you won’t regret it.
LIBRA AND LIBRA RISING
Travel plans and long-distance logistics look to be a little bit slower than you’d hope this week, with Jupiter and Saturn causing a disconnect between what you think will happen, and what’s actually possible. If you’re on the road (or air) in the lead up to Christmas Day, things could take longer than you’d like. That’s not ideal but sometimes going into a trip expecting delays can help alleviate some (not all) frustration when they actually happens. Later in the week, your ruling planet is activated by the planet ruling surprises, spelling a very fun night out if you have the chance to have a few drinks. When/if a random invite lands on the 27 or 28, just say yes.
SCORPIO AND SCORPIO RISING
There is a growing tension between your home life, and your work life that you might find hard to put out of your mind this week. While you’re (hopefully) not getting messages from your boss over the holiday break, you may find it hard to switch off. Thankfully, a little burst of unexpected pleasure could brighten the mood – especially after Christmas. Be open to last-minute drop-ins, or surprise house guests when Venus and Uranus team up to bring a little bit of festive spontaneity to proceedings. Enjoy the distraction while you can – it’s a sweet escape from longer term concerns weighing on your mind.
SAGITTARIUS AND SAGITTARIUS RISING
Your other half is under pressure this week, as a tension between home and family commitments come to blows. Your job is to try and keep everyone on an even keel and not get swept away in the frustration they’re feeling. That’s easier said than done, especially later in the week when Mercury and Saturn suggest you’ll find it quite hard to hold your tongue. On the plus side, there’s a nice little surge of spontaneous, playful energy in store for the back half of the week. If neighbours or extended family invite you around for a last-minute get together, get involved. You might just enjoy yourself.
AQUARIUS AND AQUARIUS RISING
Nothing brings out the differences in how we think than the festive season, and this week, that energy reaches a peak. A tension between how you’d like things to be, and how they’re likely to turn out dominates the start of the week. You could waste your time ruminating on why someone is the way they are, or you could just accept that we’re all different (like, very different). On the plus side Venus and Uranus are bringing a juicy moment of surprise Friday – Saturday (AEST and GMT), giving you the chance to have a celebrate in a delightfully unconventional way – just as you like it.
PISCES AND PISCES RISING
You can’t please everyone. That’s the mood for Pisceans this week who will be feeling the weight of expectation and duty as full-on family festivities dominate your calendar. As you navigate the intensity of what’s expected, or what “looks” acceptable vs what you actually feel like doing, your greatest challenge will be looking after your own energy. As a sign predisposed to giving more than they have (energetically speaking), you may find you need to step away, physically, in order to stop yourself getting completely tapped out. If that’s not possible, make plans on how you can limit your exposure to situations and people who leave you feeling zapped.
