It hasn’t been a long while since the famed reality series, Love Is Blind, released its regional adaption in the Arab world entitled Love is Blind, Habibi. Merely reaching three days since its official launch on October 10, 2024, the spin-off of the American top-rated reality show had already climbed the top of everyone’s must-watch list.
But despite the success of the original series which boasts seven seasons and a myriad of international editions, Love Is Blind, Habibi has taken the mantle as the best version against its Western and Eastern counterparts – as said by the online community. Clearly the impact of the spin-off series managed to shake the ground.
Surely enough, since its major announcement earlier this year, the Middle East and the world we’re frenzied on how the show would take place in a traditional and culture-driven society. But never faltering in expectations and anticipation, Love Is Blind, Habibi quickly topped the charts for its effortless representation that blends the usual aspects of the pods-romance routine all while paying homage to the rich traditions of the Arab world.
Perhaps what led to this unified decision to coin the show as “the best there is”, was due to the fact the seventh season of Love is Blind US coincided with the release of Love is Blind, Habibi. By then, the cult-following of the show including new watchers quickly raised the question, “Which is the best version?” resulting in an immediate comparison between the two.
So much so, that the global choice being the latter has amounted to more favourable comments from its fans. A user on X commented already asking for another season, “One of the greatest seasons yet. The outfits. The class. The drama. Can we get a second season?”

While another cemented the notion, “Love Is Blind, Habibi really is the best reality TV show of all time.”
One commented on how the regional spin also noted the conservative nature of Arab culture. “I loved Love Is Blind, Habibi. It was entertaining to watch a form of dating that’s relatable where it’s not just physical attraction. They got to emphasise family, sharing common values and life goals and adding a touch of tradition.”
With the final call being in favour of Love Is Blind, Habibi, more fans have come across the show in expectation of more.
All the while, with its regional and international success, the cast members of the show have risen to stardom, ultimately growing their own fanbases and notoriously levelling up their social media following.
HOW DOES LOVE IS BLIND, HABIBI WORK?

The contestants began in the infamous pods, where they built emotional connections through voice alone. Over the course of several weeks, conversations got deeper and eventually, proposals were made between the singles.
After a grand face reveal, fiancés met face-to-face. But compared to its Western counterpart, Love Is Blind, Habibi functioned without the honeymoon phase with respect to the culture and region.
Instead, viewers got to see the respective cultures of each pair beyond the pods. From pre-wedding traditions such as the Katb al-Katb to even henna nights (a lively gathering for women before the wedding).
Bringing in more traditional values, the series also showcased the family’s participation in the engagement process.
