Prepare for lift off, because the first big moment of September hits Monday. After 40 days and 40 nights of soul searching, reconnecting and reassessing (relationships/wardrobes/skincare routines and hairstyles) Venus, starts her strut forward once more as her retrograde season wraps up.
That’s not to say all the Venusian topics are now off the menu; on the contrary we now enter the third act of the cycle, where all those things that have been in limbo finally start to move towards a resolution. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, looking for closure or trying to make up your mind, watch for new information that helps you make the next move – one way or another (read: get the haircut, quit the double cleanse or break up with your shapewear).
Meanwhile Mercury reaches the turning point in its retrograde cycle, connecting with the Sun (Wednesday all time zones). This is the day to stay open to moments of clarity, perspective or “why didn’t I think of that?” vibes. There’s still a way to go, but finding your way through the haze should start to feel a little bit easier.
Hot tip: I always recommend you read your rising sign for the most resonant advice. If you don’t know it, you can work it out by casting your chart here. Want to learn more? ARIES AND ARIES RISING
There’s no escaping the prickly mood with your other half (platonic or romantic)… but you can certainly try. Capitalise on Venus’s forward motion and treat yourself to a “just because” retreat for one. Take yourself off to the movies, get your nails done or book a massage. Next weekend looks especially good for doing something deliciously indulgent.
TAURUS AND TAURUS RISING
This week marks a major turning point for Taureans, with progress and potential lighting up your chart. For a passion project or relationship reframe that’s been percolating since late July, things are finally starting to gain momentum. Your best days are Monday and next Sunday, so try to plan something nice (and luxe) at either end of the week.
GEMINI AND GEMINI RISING
The back and forth around something or someone close to your heart comes to a flashpoint this week. Revisit whatever it is (or who it is) that’s been giving you the run-around and look more deeply at the situation, especially on Wednesday. This is the kind of weather where you’ll find your keys in a place you know you checked three times already.
CANCER AND CANCER RISING
You’re swimming up and out of the shadows this week as Venus signals the start of a new chapter around your finances. Decisions, priorities and purchases that have been weighing heavily on your mind should start to take shape. Use your newfound decisiveness to make choices that put your self-worth front and centre.
LEO AND LEO RISING
The playfulness (or drama, or both!) that’s dominated the past five and a half weeks reaches a crescendo this week. Now is the time to weigh up where your true feelings lie and make some decisions about something – or someone – close to you. Whatever you decide, tap into that Leo courage and be real about what’s going on in your heart of hearts. Vulnerability and strength are not mutually exclusive.
VIRGO AND VIRGO RISING
If you felt exhausted by last week, rest assured this one looks a little less draining. Sure your ruling planet is still operating at half speed, but with Venus direct, finding ways to have fun and distract yourself from the lack of progress, shouldn’t be quite as difficult. Lean into simple pleasures that help you feel connected to nature and celebrate simple joys like a fantastic bowl of pasta or a flawless glass of Rosé.
LIBRA AND LIBRA RISING
Insights abound this week as the skies give you a break in the intense astro weather that’s been hammering you since late July. With your ruling planet back in the land of the living, a friendship issue that’s been making you feel 13 again will start to sort out. Put your faith in your intuition, especially on Wednesday when your gut instinct will be bang on.
SCORPIO AND SCORPIO RISING
The flip-flopping around a work issue looks like it’s finally about to settle down with Venus straightening out and getting back on course, as of Monday. That’s good news if you’ve been wondering whether to look for another job or ask for a pay rise. If tapping your network could help you forge a plan, reach out to an old colleague for a second opinion; Wednesday looks especially good for seeking outside counsel.
SAGITTARIUS AND SAGITTARIUS RISING
News – or the seed of an idea – is on its way this week as Mercury and the Sun bring you a flash of genius or a much-needed download, especially around your career. It probably won’t be the signed, sealed and delivered opportunity you hoped for, but it’s a start. There’s still plenty of time for you to figure out the details, for now get excited that a resolution is within reach.
CAPRICORN AND CAPRICORN RISING
Lightbulb moment alert! After all the confusion and heavy emotions that have been Venus retrograde, you’re dealt a brilliant moment of inspiration on Wednesday. It could happen in a yoga class, or while you’re waiting for your (most probably delayed) flight. Wherever the inspiration strikes you, make sure you write it down. It will need more work but by reconsidering your stance or reframing the situation, there’s the start of something truly worthwhile.
AQUARIUS AND AQUARIUS RISING
After a season of soul searching there’s light at the end of the tunnel for Aquarian folks. Your relationship to pleasure, autonomy and confidence stepping into the spotlight have all been highlighted by this Venus retrograde. Now you get to figure out how to put the pieces of the puzzle together. What did you learn about yourself, and your closest relationships since the end of July? Chances are the grass is not always greener, or the thing you thought you wanted, isn’t what you want at all.
PISCES AND PISCES RISING
Got a problem? You might just solve it this week! Or at least get on the right track to be moving towards a solution. Yes there’s ambiguity, but if anyone can handle the haze, it’s you. The trickiest part may be keeping your feet on the ground and not rushing ahead to try and sort it out. You’re not quite ready yet, but with a little more finesse, you might just have the start of something magic on your hands.
