A glasshouse boasting a classic colonial heritage design and a modern dome hall in Ampang, both surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking a picturesque lake, have become the go-to meeting points for the fashion crowd. Boathouse was, after all, home to the latest edition of KL Fashion Week and GRAZIA Malaysia’s first anniversary party. But more than that, it is a place where celebrity couples, from Shila Amzah and Ubaidillah Zulkefli to Sweet Qismina and Adam Lee, immortalised their bonds.
Boathouse, taking a cue from these high-profile events, recently presented the Experiential Garden Wedding Fair 2024. Held from the 7th until the 9th of June, the showcase brought bespoke wedding experiences to the public via a series of exclusive offerings by the industry’s top service providers. Live band performances and perfume-making activities were some of the other attractions that kept visitors entertained as they customised their nuptials.
Kicking off the three-day trade show, Boathouse hosted exhibitors, key opinion leaders, and the like for a gala dinner at the dome hall. An immersive atmosphere greeted the guests upon their first step into the venue as lively floral arrangements embellished the entrance and virtual greenery by FrameMotion Studio sprawled across the vaulted ceilings. The flavoursome menu by WYK Catering & Canopy Services further elevated the romantic ambience.
Homegrown musicians then took turns serenading the audience with a medley of the greatest love songs such as Can’t Help Falling in Love and The Power of Love. The room instantly transformed into a dreamlike destination as imaginative visuals enveloped the space through projection-mapping technology. More than just a feast for the eyes, it set the stage for the much-anticipated lucky draw session where a handful of guests walked away with the covetable prizes.
Before the night concluded, the guests were ushered to the lakeside to witness a spectacular water screen mapping. Capturing a couple’s love story through moving images, projected onto an ethereal screen made of delicate bursts of water, the performance presented the latest innovation at Boathouse that aims to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. It serves as a reminder that weddings could be free of the confines of traditional design.
