Based on a popular webtoon, My Dearest Nemesis tells the story of Baek Su-Jeong and Ban Ju-Yeon. The duo’s first encounter was through an online game back in their younger childhood days. More than a decade later, the two unexpectedly meet again.

However, this time, they’re meeting as boss and employee. Baek, played by Mun Ga-Young, is a diligent and fearless Strategic Planning team head. And she is unafraid to stand up for injustice in the workplace.

On the other hand, Ban (Choi Hyun-wook), is a third-generation chaebol (a large industrial South Korean conglomerate) heir and the new director of Baek’s division at Yongseong Department Store. What the employees do not know, however, is the other online persona “Black Dragon” that Ban keeps hidden—one that is obsessed with rock music, comic books and the like. And when Baek discovers this secret, things take a different and exciting turn.

What stands out in this series is how it is centred around online gaming. The gaming scene and e-sports make up a big part of Korean culture but are much less explored in dramas, so this is not your typical office romance K-drama.

Both Mun and Choi are no rookies in the K-drama scene. Mun has starred in various projects like Welcome to Waikiki (2018) and True Beauty (2020). Choi, on the other hand, was also part of famed projects like Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022) and Twinkling Watermelon (2023).

My Dearest Nemesis is now airing, with new episodes every Monday and Tuesday.
