In line with creative director Sabato De Sarno’s interest in melding the worlds of art and fashion, the Gucci Spring/Summer 2025 men’s show was held at the Triennale Milano yesterday. The museum, a light-filled and airy space surrounded by lush greenery, reflected the playfulness and ease of the designs shown—think sorbet-coloured jackets, printed shirts with boxy fits and sunglasses with chunky frames.
On his sophomore menswear collection for the Italian fashion house, De Sarno explains in his press notes: “This collection speaks of encounters—incontri—between the city and the beach, and among people who love life. Ultimately, it speaks about freedom. I feel free when there is no distance between my words and my thoughts, between my actions and my heart.”
And who better to embody these values than the list of celebrity guests that filled the front row at the Gucci Spring/Summer 2025 men’s show? Normal People star Paul Mescal arrived at the Triennale Milano in a light blue shirt buttoned over striped boxer shorts which he paired with loafers, while Thai actor Billkin—who made waves with his role in How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies—showed his take on preppy fashion with an argyle-print sweater and polo tee tucked into black trousers. Other friends of the house in attendance yesterday include Venus and Serena Williams, Italian actor Lorenzo Zurzolo and Chinese actor Zhou Yiran.
