The fiery, traffic-stopping hues of the Fall/Winter 2023 runways are finally trickling over onto real life red carpets: scarlet, crimson, blood, ruby, carmine, the list goes on. Chalk it up to the high shine red skirt suits at Prada that season or the plunging, sculptural red gowns jolting front rowers at Bottega Veneta because this award season, the take-no-prisoners shade is literally everywhere. The latest: Sarah Snook at the 75th annual Emmy Awards in a voluminous, red Vivienne Westwood gown and diamond encrusted Cartier jewels.
The Australian actress and new mother, 36, is secured the Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series gong at today’s Emmys in Downtown Los Angeles for her role as the four-letter weapon of mass destruction, Shiv, in hit television series Succession.
“The biggest thank you is to someone who won’t understand anything I’m saying at the moment,” Snook said in her acceptance speech referencing her young daughter. “I carried her with me in this last season and really, it was her who carried me. It’s very easy to act when you’re pregnant because you have hormones raging. It was more the proximity of her life growing inside me that gave me the strength to do this and this performance. I love you so much and it’s for you, from here on out. Thank you.”
Snook took home the Best Actress award at the Critics Choice Awards on January 13 and the Golden Globes on January 7. Joining her on high alert in red is a string of celebrities this award season including Margot Robbie, Suki Waterhouse, Camila Morrone, Ayo Edebiri and Dua Lipa to name all but a few. Take a look.
