It’s about time The Ordinary had a lip balm, and we’re only surprised it didn’t come sooner. The cult favourite skincare brand known for its minimalist, straightforward approach to skincare ingredients will finally be launching its first: the Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm on June 20th, 2024.
Soft and hydrated lips are on the cards for this one, and The Ordinary is making it happen with a formulation of biomimetic amino acids and, a favourite ingredient of the brand’s, squalane. The keyword here is “biomimetic”, which means “the formulation seeks to mimic the natural process and components of the skin,” according to The Ordinary Chief Scientific Officer, Prudvi Kaka. The composition of amino acids in this lip balm is identical to the ones found naturally within the skin’s natural moisturising factors (NMF), promoting long-lasting hydration.
Alongside squalane, another naturally found ingredient in the skin’s sebum, these two ingredients will work in tandem to boost hydration, improve the appearance of dryness, and continually improve moisture on the lips with extended use.
The best part? They’re not restricted to just your lips. The Ordinary Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm can also be applied to your cuticles and elbows. The cute, O-shaped squeeze bottle is as sleek as it is hygienic, ensuring maximum portability. Don’t forget to include it in your next “What’s in my Bag?” video.
The Ordinary Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm retails at MYR60 and can be purchased online here.
