After her Emily In Paris character debuted bangs in the show’s latest season, Lily Collins chopped off her IRL locks into a chic French bob for the summer. And though she’s been effortlessly rocking the crop since June—tempting us all to follow suit in the process—with a new role comes a new look for the actress, who just revealed a fresh hue.
In an Instagram post about the West End preview of Bess Wohl’s Barcelona, a play she stars in with Álvaro Morte, the famous brunette showed off a dramatic transformation.
Puckering up for the camera, Collins, 35, casually unveiled cascading blonde hair parted to the side and styled in loose curls.
Though the look was not quite the bold change we thought—it was actually a wig transformation to get her into character—fans were still thrown for a loop regardless.
It’s not the first time Collins has experimented with becoming a temporary blonde. Back in 2017, she fooled fans with a selfie that included a very convincing wig, only to reassure followers with her natural locks hours later.
Directed by Lynette Linton, Barcelona is set in 2009 and follows an American tourist (Collins) and a handsome Spaniard (Morte) who go home together after a night out. What begins as a fun one-night stand becomes a high-stakes clash of intention and desire as the personal and political intertwine. Per its description, the story explores the fantasy of who we pretend to be versus the truth of who we are.
