The Giorgio Armani SS23 show in Milan was stitched together with a common golden thread. Aptly tited Titled Fil d’Or, the collection cast a subtle shimmer, from jewellery to glossed fabrics and – perhaps the most thoughtful of details – the makeup.
Giorgio Armani international makeup artist Linda Cantello used the brand’s much-loved product lineup to create a glamorous look that combined polished skin with a pinky lip and golden orb on each eye. The base was perfected with Power Fabric foundation, before Cantello placed a tiny golden dot on each lid. Framed with ebony liner, a dust of golden shadow and curly lashes, the end result was futuristic but still stepped in the pared-back Italian glamour Armani is known for.
“Pared back luxury has always been the Armani DNA. A pop of pure gold on a softly lined upper lid combined with a minimal perfected complexion is all that’s needed to take us back to the future.”
— Linda Cantello
To complement the makeup, hair was worn in a chic, simple low looped ponytail. From the front, the style is quite nondescript, but the back revealed another incredible golden detailing (a thread pulled through the length) that ensures cohesion on every front.
