Travel à la mode, they say.

It might be humid and scorching hot in Malaysia all year, but our passion for travelling during the summer is ever-so fervent. Think about it, the idea of sipping endless glasses of Negroni, lolling by the earthshine-gold sandy shore, and watching the sun dip into the cerulean-blue sea—wonderful, isn’t it? Try topping that off with shopping exclusively at the pop-ups.

We are definitely not the only person visualising this in our heads 24/7, luxury brands too, took this opportunity to reap every bit of the summer’s Vitamin D, launching not only their summer beach-appropriate capsule but also decking out pop-ups and taking over beaches all over the world. If this doesn’t say, “Draft your ‘I have limited access to email’ out-of-office message and bring along your empty suitcase(s)”, what else does? It’s the summertime season—en vogue.

Dior

By now, we can all agree that the release of Dior’s annual Dioriviera marks the beginning of summer. When the Maison painted all their iconic “Toile de Jouy Sauvage” in pastel shades of pink and blue, that is what we are wearing this summer—from head to toe. With pop-ups across the world, Dioriviera took a pitstop at the Ember Beach Club of the One&Only Desaru Coast. From the sand carvings to the palatable meals prepared by locally renowned chef Raymond Tham; the Dioriviera is the peak of pleasure and devoutly to be wish’d.

Gucci

Gucci is rolling out their Summer Stories Collection at the Cote d’Azur. Rapphia is the main character weaving into the footwear and bags including the iconic Horsebit 1955 and Jackie 1961. The summery collection also features a selection of ready-to-wear printed with nautical elements.

Expect Gucci to be over the top, we are not surprised to see it taking over Loulou Ramatuelle’s lounge area. Not only did they line the shore of Pampelonne with yellow Cabana-stripped parasols, but also sun loungers adorned with Gucci’s emblematic Web Stripe motif. Gucci in St. Tropez? La Dolce Vita, sweet life indeed.

Jacquemus

No one else throws celebrations quite like Simon Porte Jacquemus. We are talking about Jacquemus’ private beach with a standalone boutique that got the Internet and us swooning over it. Speaking of top-notch shopping experience! More than a clothesmaker, Jacquemus is a storyteller whose designs have always been inspired by his sun-kissed childhood. Growing up in southern France, this pop-up on the Route de Bonne Terrasse is Jacquemus in his element.

From beach wears to leather goods, the ephemeral boutique houses the summer capsule. With arched entrances, burlap ceilings, limewash walls, and of course, the designer’s favourite lemon tree, the spot is mesmerising. If you share Jacquemus’ love for the never-fading sun or just want to paddle in the emerald sea with the brand’s very own yellow paddle board, the pop-up will remain open until October 2023.

Louis Vuitton

Clear blue skies, teal blue sea and Louis Vuitton’s blue for the “By The Pool” summer capsule. What all the blues have in common is they encapsulate festival charm. Inspired by the Azulejos ceramics from Portugal, the collection comes in azure blue and pink. Painted with a watercolour-like appearance, it features an array of pool-ready pieces, including iconic bags the Neverfull and Speedy 25.

The House had their retreats at Huangcuo Beach in Xiamen with a bookstore that had unfortunately ended. In the meantime, you can also visit the pop-up at Zuma before the announcement for the next pop-ups. Nestled in the white-washed villas along the cliffside, this is a culinary gem in Mykonos. Having Izakaya with unrivalled scenic views after shopping in Louis Vuitton, summer never feel so good.

Valentino

Valentino’s summer capsule “Escape”, is about escaping the hurly-burly and spending your summer al fresco in a coastal town. Worth mentioning, the collection encompassed notable designs from the Maison’s archive. For animal print lovers, the Animalier—first revealed in 1967—is translated into breezy silhouettes. For the all-black crowd, the Panther—a sartorial zeitgeist in the late 60s, will hit right up your alley. No summer is completed without vivid and colourful looks. The Loop from the 1971 Viva Valentino campaign has the subtle psychedelic 70s nod that is fun yet timeless.

Along with the new release, Valentino unveiled themed pop-ups in St. Tropez, Forte dei Marmi, Dubai and the Hamptons. If you happen to visit the Amalfi Coast, consider adding Palazzo Avino to your itinerary. The Valentino’s red is taking over the hilltop villa from June 9th onwards. You are cordially invited to a healing escapade, where shopping therapy and the healing power of the Tyrrhenian Sea crosspath.
