Horoscopes April 7-13: Get Ready To Be Humbled By A Cosmic Reality Check

With multiple retrogrades wrapping up, allow the chips to fall where they may.

Horoscopes for the week of April 7-13

It’s time to start putting the pieces back together. The ‘iron out all the kinks’ vibe continues as both Mercury and Venus retrograde wrap up, book-ending the start and finish of the week.

Retrogrades are always a time to reframe, but what’s interesting about this one, is that its final throes are serving a major reality check. Despite what’s unfolded for you over the past month (or six weeks) or maybe because of it, there’s a handbrake to how you’re feeling about that thing or that person. Maybe what you need is less rather than more? As the saying goes, if it’s not a hell yes, it’s probably a no…

ARIES AND ARIES RISING

It may feel like you’re slowly returning to regular programming this week. With the dust beginning to settle, you can start to see the shape of what you truly want/need/desire. The wildcard? It may not be how you felt at the start of March. In fact, it might be much less of what you thought you wanted.

With Saturn involved, what was a “definitely/maybe” six weeks ago could be a loving-but-firm “not now, not ever”. And that’s ok. Brace yourself for the full moon (Saturday AEST and GMT) when there will be no holding back, that is, assuming you’ve held your tongue that long.

TAURUS AND TAURUS RISING

There’s a sense of relief and release about the sky this week. As feelings and decisions come home to roost, don’t be surprised if you feel the need to lean out. Social situations, work functions, and even your usual workout schedule could feel a bit too much. Trust your gut; if things feel overwhelming, step away.

The weekend looks particularly fiery, so if you’re not in the mood to “go there”, send your sincerest apologies. Takeaway and The Real Housewives of Atlanta would probably do you nicely.

GEMINI AND GEMINI RISING

If the weird astro weather has had you feeling more restrained than usual, you’re about to make up for lost time. As Mercury moves direct in too-much-information Pisces, your biggest challenge will be remaining (somewhat) tactful. With Saturn also on the scene, the tone is more critical than your usual rhetoric. This is the sort of weather where you’ll be hard-pressed not to say every single thought that pops into your mind.

On the weekend, an extra spicy full moon will unleash anything you, or the people around you, have been trying to sweep under the carpet. Consider yourself warned.

CANCER AND CANCER RISING

Remember how a few weeks ago we said, “This too shall pass?” Well, you’re almost in the clear. This week, things are starting to settle down, or at least become a little less nebulous. Early in the week, a “thanks, but no thanks” will be the resolution you’ve been waiting on. OK, so maybe you weren’t hoping for a no, but at least there’s some clarity around how things are panning out.

On the weekend, sparks fly as the full moon coincides with a deluge of emotional baggage from people in close proximity. The outburst is coming from somewhere deep in the past. Don’t panic; it’s not you; it’s them.

LEO AND LEO RISING

There’s a sense of resolve and resignation to this week. After more than a month of not knowing which way is up, getting to the bottom of how you (or someone close to you) are feeling is a relief. The answer may not be as bountiful or generous as you first expected, but a clear “no” is better than a maybe. Knowing where you stand gives you the surety you need to make plans and, if necessary, keep on moving. And that’s got to be better than floating in the void.

VIRGO AND VIRGO RISING

Hey, Virgo, take a bow. You’ve been in a whirlpool of feelings and confusion the past four to six weeks. Guess what? You’re still standing. As you begin to reorientate yourself, it could take a second to get your bearings. You’ll get the first hint of how your heart is headed early in the week. Chances are it’s to build more walls rather than tear them down.

On the weekend, the full moon brings emotions to the fore as Venus stations direct simultaneously. Remember, while it may be reasonable to expect someone to accept rejection, you can’t expect them to like it.

LIBRA AND LIBRA RISING

There’s a great release in store for Libra folks as a full moon draws a hard line under the craziness of the quarter of this year. For you especially, it’s been a lot, with the people you love most in a state of flux. This week isn’t especially touchy-feely, but it does feel like a shift in the scales. Less pushing against a brute force, and more ease, flow and clarity.

With Saturn playing a big part, starting from “no” rather than agreeing first and then regretting your life choices could be a very wise strategy.

SCORPIO AND SCORPIO RISING

It’s an interesting week for Scorpios, particularly those of the single variety. As Mercury, Venus and Saturn meet, there’s a momentous quality to the mood. You’ve had more than a month to ponder what it is—or who it is—you want to make space for. Now you get to the pointy end of the decision, and chances are, you’re erring on the side of caution. Don’t second-guess your gut instinct to step away—even if they’re saying all the right things. Leaning out, or at least putting in some more considered boundaries, is exactly what you need right now.

SAGITTARIUS AND SAGITTARIUS RISING

No sign enjoys a moment of truth quite like you. That’s precisely what you’re in for this week as the planets collude to deliver a stark realisation. Even the most cavalier Sagittarians may be feeling a little ginger about a decision or crossroad that’s been weighing heavily over the past four to six weeks. Don’t overthink your immediate reaction. Sometimes, even a Sagittarius needs a little bit of structure for things to function well.

CAPRICORN AND CAPRICORN RISING

Nobody does “thanks, but no thanks” quite like a Capricorn. That’s a natural position you might be called on to lean into this week. With your ruling planet casting a long shadow over the end of both Mercury retrograde and Venus retrograde, starting from “no” will be the very least you can do. For the less restrained folks around you, the overall mood could feel a bit hard to handle, but if you can hold your centre, it should feel relatively uneventful.

The weekend, on the other hand, is serving major drama. Mind your Ps and Qs unless you’re in the mood to go head-to-head with someone spoiling for a showdown that has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with their stuff.

AQUARIUS AND AQUARIUS RISING

After more than a month of life moving at a glacial pace, finally, the time has come for Aquarians to move forward. Decisions will be made. Realisations will be had. Reality, boundaries and recognising your limits are significant themes. Money could weigh heavily as you consider what’s a reasonable outlay and what’s a pipe dream.

Over the weekend, an extra zingy full moon could deliver some more home truths about how you express yourself and your willingness to both learn and lead.

PISCES AND PISCES RISING

It’s another massive week for Pisceans with all the action taking place in your home sign. It’s no news to you that you’ve been in a state of flux, thinking deeply about what you want and how you wish to move forward—as an individual and in relationships. What you may not expect is that all the soul searching you’ve been doing may not turn up the big cozy green light you expected. The vibe is more a compassionate “no” rather than your usual “Sure, why not?”.

Be prepared for the fact that people are not used to hearing that from you, and it may take a fair amount of grit to hold your ground. But keep your ground, you absolutely must.
