London Calling! The Best Red Carpet Moments From The 2024 British Fashion Awards
From Rihanna's return to Alexa Chung dressing like the roaring 20s, see all the memorable looks here.
Roll up, roll up! On December 2nd, fashion’s pedigree gathered at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the annual British Fashion Awards, presented by Pandora. While the South Kensington venue has played host to nobles and aristocrats, the venue was transformed into a parade of glamour for one night only as sartorial luminaries sauntered down the red carpet and into the great concert hall in the name of style.
From across the pond, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made their return to the event after their 2019 appearance when she wore a custom mint green Fenty dress to collect the ‘Urban Luxe’ award for her now-defunct eponymous label. Paying homage to the moment, Rihanna stepped out in an ice-blue winter coat and matching textured hat from Christian Lacroix’s Fall/Winter 20002 Haute Couture collection.
Similar to Pamela Anderson’s iconic headpiece from the 1999 MTV VMAs, the truffula tree-inspired piece hid her soft curls and drew the eye away from her dazzling necklace and plunging black bustier. A$AP Rocky complemented her Martha May Whovier-esque jacket in a utilitarian navy blue grain de poudre jacket and trousers from Bottega Veneta’s Pre-Spring 2025 collection.
Elsewhere, Bridgerton alumni Nicola Coughlan and Simone Ashley emulated their regency-inspired costumes in structured gowns that boasted antiquated motifs like hoop skirts and elongated trains. You can take the girls out of the ton, but you can’t take the ton out of the girls.
London It Girls Lila Moss and Alexa Chung both played into a sense of nostalgia, though in contrasting ways. The burgeoning model looked to a vintage Alexander McQueen stoned corset and crystal-encrusted low-rise trousers that debuted the year she was born. Chung, on the other hand, evoked our festive season fantasies in a flapper-style sheer and beaded dress slung under a calf-length fur coat and a ‘pop of red’ Miu Miu Wander purse. December is the most wonderful time of the year, especially for sartorialists.
Of course, there were lab-grown diamonds a plenty scattered across the soirée with the attendees bringing new meaning to the phrase ‘luminary’ in stunning pieces from the Danish jewellery brand. Ahead, all the memorable looks and best in show dressers at the 2024 British Fashion Awards.
