Power and honesty are major themes this week as we reach a huge turning point and one of the biggest events of the astro calendar this year. As Pluto – the planet that rules extremes, control and cash – packs its bags and leaves the sign of Capricorn where it’s been since 2008, we’re officially moving into a new era. It’s most notable on a macro level; but in your day-to-day life, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn rising folks may notice the shift most. Expect a bumpy transition when the Moon hooks up with Mars the day before Pluto changes signs (Thursday AEST, Wednesday GMT).

No matter what your rising sign, it’s an excellent week to reflect, to consider how you’ve evolved, upgraded or broken free of old paradigms over the past 16 years. On a macro level, it signals the beginning of a new age where technology, information and data continue to become the most powerful way to move the dial.

On a lighter note, Sagittarius season also kicks off this week (21 November GMT; 22 AEST), signalling the astrologically start to the party season. If you needed a nudge to start your holiday shopping or put the tree up early, consider yourself nudged.

ARIES AND ARIES RISING

You could feel a release of pressure this week as Pluto shuffles out of your professional domain – a spot it’s been weighing heavily for more than 15 years! The shift signals a new long-term cycle where power dynamics and shadow work manifest in different, less visceral ways. Monday through Wednesday (all time zones) are especially nice for doing a little navel gazing and considering how you’ve faced fears around your professional life in the past 10+ years. What has scared you most? What has forced you outside of your comfort zone? And what have you learned from it all? It’s all food for thought as the back half of the week picks up speed, with Sagittarius season (Thursday GMT, Friday AEST), bringing the festive cheer.

TAURUS AND TAURUS RISING

It’s an exciting time to be a Taurus, with Pluto settling into your professional sphere until 2043 this week, there’s a big shift coming. This marks the official start of a major cycle where backing yourself at work will become a major theme. The potential for greatness is, well, great, and the best part is you’re in no rush (music to a Taureans ears). If you’re wondering what that might feel like, consider what was going on for you professionally earlier this year (late January – to the start of September). Pluto has already given a sneak preview of what this cycle (also between 23 March and 11 June last year). You don’t need to “do” anything per se, but take the time to reflect and think about what mountain you might like to climb next…

GEMINI AND GEMINI RISING

While social media lights up with Pluto in Aquarius memes this week, your most exciting moment has got to be Sagittarius season finally arriving (Thursday GMT, Friday AEST). With the Sun moving into the realm of your serious relationships, the focus shifts from the humdrum day-to-day grind into something much more exuberant. If you only do one thing, make sure it’s booking a little last-minute escape with someone you love in the coming four weeks. With the Sun and Jupiter working together, you’d be mad not to prioritise adventure, fun and play with your own personal VIP.

CANCER AND CANCER RISING

If you feel things lighten and lift a little this week, you’re not imagining it, there’s a major change. With Pluto shifting out of the sphere of your intimate relationships (where it’s been since 2008), you could experience a sense of reprieve. The massive growth and evolution that’s been developing for people close to you (or in your relationship with them) has reached its conclusion. And that can only mean things will feel a bit less huge. Think about what’s changed for you, how you’ve grown and what you’ve learned over the past 15ish years. How has your definition of what matters in relationships evolved, and what wisdom are you bringing with you as you move into the next 20ish year cycle? Important reflections for the week ahead…

LEO AND LEO RISING

It’s all happening for Leos this week as you welcome Pluto into the realm of your most intimate relationships. It marks the beginning of a long cycle of transformation, growth and focus on partnerships. For a preview of what could be in store, cast your mind back to late March – mid June last year, or the first nine months of this year. Both times, Pluto moved into Aquarius momentarily, offering a “trailer” of what’s to come. The back half of the week may not be your best time for tricky conversations, unless your desired outcome is to get a reaction (hot tip: you 100% will if you bring up that thing). But after Friday, things look a little more playful, as Sagittarius season gets off to a lively start.

VIRGO AND VIRGO RISING

There’s a cool change coming this week, with a long-term cycle being initiated around your work. Monday through Wednesday make space in your calendar to do a little soul searching. The first half of the week offers a nice moment to pause and reflect on how you’ve learned to handle (a lot of) pressure. What are your coping mechanisms? How have you evolved and grown over the past 15(ish) years? What’s your approach to Big Intense Stuff? There’s nothing to do, but ponder how you’ve levelled up, and notice all the old versions of yourself you’ve shed. Later in the week, the Sun moves into Sagittarius, signalling another work-related cycle (this one only four weeks). Definitely less monumental, but fun all the same.

LIBRA AND LIBRA RISING

Ready to exhale? There’s a feeling of relief coming late in the week as things deescalate in your domestic realm. Like a pressure valve being released, you could notice issues – or at least your attitudes towards them – relax. Maybe it’s an issue around where you’re living, maybe it’s to do with your parents or family, whatever it is, it’s a good change. Make space before Thursday to reflect on how you’ve grown and evolved in this same area. What old versions of yourself have you let go of? What fears have you faced? What power struggles have you navigated? There’s no right or wrong answers here, only pertinent questions worth asking and likely, a few pats on the back.

SCORPIO AND SCORPIO RISING

Brace yourself Scorps, things are about to get interesting. With an important new cycle taking root this week, it’s time for an earlier than expected “2024 year in review”. From late January through to the start of September, you were given a very concise preview of what this new era means for you. Consider how things began to evolve and transform in your life – especially in the realm of your career. Concentrate less on the details and look more broadly at the deeper themes. What did the situation that you were dealing with make you feel? Where and how did you have to step up and stand forward? These themes of self-actualisation and courage will give you a strong hint as to what’s in store long term…

SAGITTARIUS AND SAGITTARIUS RISING

Can someone catch the bartender’s eye, because it is YOUR season, and someone please, get this woman a drink!  After what seems like an unseasonably slow Scorpio season, the Sun is bringing confidence, clarity and swagger in spades to you dear centaur. Jupiter is also in on the action, making this an especially juicy Sagittarius season. It’s a fun key change that you’ll feel more than ready to embrace. In other news, you’re on the brink of wrapping up a looong story around finances – maybe how you earn a living, maybe how you save, spend or manage your money. It’s all a bit boring in comparison to the frivolity that is Sagittarius season. Go forth and mingle.

CAPRICORN AND CAPRICORN RISING

Little goats rejoice, things are looking up! With Pluto departing the front row of your life, you are now entering your “less Plutonian” era. That’s good news if you’ve been through a period of long, challenging transformation. This week is the moment the caterpillar leaves the chrysalis a fully-fledged butterfly. Like a phone that’s finally downloaded the software update, this week, you restart, switch on and get to feel into your new settings (Thursday GMT, Friday AEST). Enjoy it, but don’t fill your schedule so much you don’t have time to reflect on all the ways you’ve grown in the past decade, plus. This is a moment of triumph to lap up the spoils of all the hard work, grit and determination you’ve mustered. Well done you.

AQUARIUS AND AQUARIUS RISING

Are you ready for an upgrade? There’s big shifts coming Aquarius, and the best is yet to come. As we farewell Pluto from Capricorn and welcome it into your home sign until 2043, you’re entering into a new era of transformation and personal power. Makeovers, do-overs, total resets; this new chapter is all about redefining your sense of self. Finding ways to connect more deeply to your own personal power and face your fears. For a sneak preview of the kind of things that might come up, consider the first nine months of 2024 when Pluto moved in Aquarius (it tracked back to Capricorn around the start of September for one final dance). Concentrate on the feel of things rather than the details and concentrate on your long-term. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

PISCES AND PISCES RISING

There’s a lot of balls in the air this week but the good news is, none should be hurtling directly towards you. As a new era begins towards with Pluto shifting into Aquarius, on a personal level you’ll probably feel most activated by the start of Sagittarius season (Thursday GMT, Friday AEST). This one should really light up your life especially when it comes to feeling gratitude and joy for your family and home. It’s a holly, jolly kind of feel that inspires a little bit of festive cheer and optimism – and a yearning to reconnect with those who know you best. Enjoy the warmth and get to work on your holiday plans, that tree won’t direct itself!
