Dua Lipa- Radical Optimism Tour
Yes, you read that right—the British-Albanian pop star and pickle coke icon is coming to Kuala Lumpur this month for her third concert tour. This marks Dua’s second time in the city and we’re happy to welcome her back. We’re anticipating hits like ‘One Kiss’, and Levitating to be in the mix on the setlist. Girl is giving us everything too—due to overwhelming demand, the singer added a second date to the concert, giving more Malaysian fans a chance to see her live.

排一排 Side by Side 排一排 (pai yi pai) is a solo exhibition by Malaysian painter Liew Kwai Fei. With a career spanning over a decade, the artist is recognised as one of the country’s most exciting new generation of contemporary painters. The exhibition showcases over 50 paintings, including some triptychs, that haven’t been displayed before. The pieces, created at different times in his career, are shown together in no particular order, encouraging visitors to look closer and think more about the art—it’s time to get your art aficionado on and appreciate the masterpieces.

KL Chinatown Fest
KL Chinatown Fest has everything you could want in a festival—there’s food, music, exhibitions, talks, and, cultural happenings. The three-day event will be held at key landmarks like RexKL, Jalan Sultan, and Lorong Panggung to honour the area’s rich heritage. With the theme “Together Gather”, it’s all about highlighting local talents while getting the community involved. And to top it off, the event has a special collab with the multi-award-winning stout brand, Connor’s—time to sip away while you enjoy the line-up of fun activities.

Film: A Night We Held Between By Noor Abed
Ilham Gallery is loved by KL art enthusiasts for its interesting yet meaningful exhibitions—this time they’re welcoming artist Noor Abed to showcase her film: A Night We Held Between. Abed is known for exploring ideas of choreography and the imagined connections between people, and her work has been shown internationally in cities like New York, Montreal, and Warsaw. The film was shot at ancient sites in Palestine, blending rituals and community stories with themes of resistance. It offers an intimate look at daily life in Palestine, mixing personal and collective experiences in a way that’s both moving and thought-provoking.

Hennessy Artistry 2024
Hennessy Artistry is back again this year to elevate the entertainment scene transforming Sentul Depot into an electrifying playground of music, art, fashion, and cocktails. A Dash of Nature
As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to unwind. The klpac Symphonic Band presents A Dash of Nature, a relaxing concert that celebrates Mother Earth through music. Conducted by Cheryl Mah, the programme includes works by renowned composers Tyler S. Grant, Takamasa Sakai, Scott Watson, and Hayato Hirose. The concert also features world premieres from local composers Elson Kwong, Lawrence Chiu, and Melody Yeo. A fitting season finale, this performance offers a musical journey through nature’s wonders and honours the people and things that enrich our lives.

The Working Dead
Work-life balance—here’s a topic that refuses to stay buried. Are you taking care of yourself? Spending enough time with friends and family? Or are you working as a mindless corporate zombie? The answer lies in “The Working Dead” a musical by KuLT Productions, the story follows Edwin, a hardworking employee who dies unexpectedly on the job. But instead of letting Edwin rest in peace, his greedy boss Mr Chan hires a shady bomoh to bring him back as a zombie to finish his work.

Echoes of The Hornbill’s Cry
It’s the last month of the Kreatif KL Festival and they’re pumping more creative acts for us to soak in the culture. Echoes of The Hornbill’s Cry is a vibrant contemporary dance performance by Raziman Sarbini, a seasoned dancer with 13 years of experience. Mixing Sarawak’s cultural heritage with a modern twist, Raziman blends traditional and contemporary dance to create a one-of-a-kind movement style with a talented cast, original music, stunning costumes, and a set that breathes Sarawakian spirit.

SEKA by Eko Supriyanto
Another highlight from Kreatif KL, choreographed by Eko Supriyanto, the Seka dance from Papua Barat, is all about cleansing—not just physically, but also spiritually and environmentally. It highlights the strong connection between the Papuan people and their surroundings, reminding us how important it is to take care of the planet. The dance serves as a call to action for protecting the environment. It also reflects the unity of Kaimana’s diverse community, where different tribes come together through tradition to preserve both their culture and the natural world around them.

IMMERSIO 2024
Immersio returns this year at the creative community hub, GMBB. The annual new media art exhibition has been a pioneer in showcasing upcoming talent from Southeast Asia and Malaysia. The theme for this year is Maya—a Sanskrit word meaning “illusion” or “magic,” which also translates to “virtual” in Malay. It’s a mix of history, myths, and creativity, aiming to deepen our connection to heritage while exploring the possibilities of the future.
