When Chanel reprised its Cruise 2025 fashion show in Hong Kong this week, it was with a spirit of newness. The collection was first shown in Marseille in May; the port city in the south of France served as the inspiration for the colourful tweed suits, the breezy white lace dresses and a bow-embellished swimsuit that came down the runway. But when those same looks were presented along the corridors of the Hong Kong Design Institute on 5 November, they looked just as ideal for the city as the seaside.

The magic of Chanel’s clothes taking on a new life was also observed off the runway. The maison’s Hong Kong fashion show was attended by local actors and actresses, as well as Asian celebrities who flew in from Taiwan, Thailand and, in the case of G-Dragon, South Korea. The K-pop star, who just released his new single Power, made a powerful statement, indeed, in a pink tweed jacket. The rapper made the classic Chanel piece his own by adorning it with an embroidered daisy flower brooch from his fashion label, Peaceminusone. G-Dragon also stayed true to his eclectic, androgynous style, layering the tweed jacket over a floral shirt. His outfit was completed with striking accessories, including a mini crossbody bag and sparkling silver shoes.

G-Dragon was one of the many stylish men in attendance. Taiwanese actor Bolin Chen sported a grey tweed jacket with cropped sleeves that showed off his white Chanel J12 watch, altogether creating a look that was minimalist and monochromatic. Meanwhile, legendary Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-Fat, who was a speaker at the live Radio Chanel session that took place before the fashion show, wore his Chanel cardigan over a white shirt and a tie—a look that gave him a worldly, academic air.

Still, there’s nothing like seeing how women wear their Chanel tweed. Hollywood star Penelope Cruz leaned into her flamboyant style in a white tweed suit trimmed with feathers. Thai actress Baipor Thitiya also stood out from the crowd in her coquette-inspired ensemble, comprising a pink belted tweed jacket with a camellia brooch, and a matching miniskirt.

There were other sartorial high notes from the event, not involving tweed: actress Angela Yuen, who stars in Audrey Diwan’s Modern Flirt short film for Chanel, arrived in a floral and lace shirt with matching pants. The ensemble stayed true to Yuen’s sweet and feminine style. Chinese-American actress Fala Chen donned a simple but stunning baby blue sequin dress. Singaporean musician Shye also wore blue, clad in a striped jacket, vest and skirt from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2025 pre-collection.

Below, take a closer look at all the best-dressed celebrities that we spotted at the fashion show in Hong Kong.
