Premieres 28th November in Cinemas
Are people born wicked or did they have wickedness thrust upon them? You’ll see that answer in the upcoming film adaptation, Wicked. The beloved Broadway musical fans were stunned when behind-the-scenes pictures of Ariana Grande as Glinda, The Good Witch and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, The Bad Witch were released in early 2023. The story follows the backstory of these two witches who form an unlikely girlhood but their friendship gets tested by some pretty wild challenges in the Land Oz, eventually pushing them to opposite sides of good vs evil. Just by the trailer itself, we’re already bewitched by Ariana’s vocals.

Dune: Prophecy
Premieres 17th November on HBO Max
Timothée Chalamet had us on our knees as Paul Atreides in Dune Part One and Two. While we’re waiting for the third instalment, fans of the Dune World can dive into the epic Dune: Prophecy. The show is set 10,000 years before the events of the first film following the story of sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen fighting their way to ward off the galactic apocalypse by establishing the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

Premieres 13th November on Netflix
If you’re into gritty dramas like Narcos and upbeat musicals, Emilia Pérez will be next on your list. The film centres around Emilia, a fearsome cartel leader who recruits Rita, a lawyer who’s feeling stuck in a dead-end job, to help her fake her death so she can finally live as her true self—by going through gender reassignment surgery. Selena Gomez brings back her acting chops too, starring as Emilia’s wife, Jessi. The three women embark on an intense journey, each chasing their version of happiness.

IVF is a medical procedure that has helped millions of people make their dreams of having children a reality. This groundbreaking method owes its success to three British pioneers: Robert Edwards, Patrick Steptoe, and Jean Purdy. The film is based on the true story of the three creating the first ‘test tube baby’, the road to this breakthrough wasn’t easy and came with many setbacks. The trio faced significant skepticism from both the medical community and the public but that didn’t stop them from persevering.

Gladiator II

Ridley Scott is back with a sequel to the classic Gladiator—over 20 years later. This time, the story picks up two decades after the original and follows Lucius, the grandson of the former Roman Emperor and son of Maximus. His world is turned upside down when an army led by General Marcus Acacius invades, forcing him into slavery. Now, Lucius is out for revenge by becoming a gladiator and taking on the emperors of Rome. Seeing Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal in gladiator uniforms definitely got us feeling some type of way.

Heretic

We fell in love with Hugh Grant on Notting Hill, but you might be afraid of him in this new A24 film. Grant plays a seemingly charming old man who invites two young missionaries into his home by lying to them about his wife being inside baking a blueberry pie—only to trap them in a deadly labyrinth that tests their faith and survival.

The Day of The Jackal
Premieres 7th November on Peacock
It’s been a minute since we had an assassin-type show on our screen, Eddie Redmayne—ditching his wizard look stars as the anonymous hitman, codename ‘The Jackal’, is hired to kill the President of France. As he plans his attack, a determined police detective tries to figure out who the Jackal is and stop him. The show is an adaptation of the 1973 film of the same name but with a more contemporary setting.

Lindsay Lohan is becoming our new Christmas movie queen. This year she’s back again with another holiday rom-com. Avery (Lohan) is already nervous about spending the holidays with her boyfriend’s family for the first time; things couldn’t get any worse when her ex is there too—dating her current boyfriend’s sister. The two resentful exes are forced to spend Christmas together while trying to keep their history a secret from everyone.

Real fans of the F1 will know about the legendary Ayrton Senna, the Brazillian three-time Formula One World Championship winner. The limited series dives into the beginning of his racing career in Formula Ford leading up to the heartbreaking events of the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, where he tragically passed away.
