Conrad Singapore Orchard, Captured in All of Its Splendour

Old-world charm meets modern comfort at the Conrad Singapore Orchard.

Housed in a palatial building from the ’80s, the newly refurbished Conrad Singapore Orchard
(formerly Regent Singapore) officially opened its doors in January 2024. Nestled in the heart of
Orchard Road, the hotel is surrounded by lush greenery that embraces Singapore’s garden city
environment.

Inside, a soaring 12-storey skylit atrium originally designed by legendary architect John Portman
made a stunning first impression. As we rode up to our suite in one of the iconic glass elevators, we
were equally mesmerised by Japanese sculptor Michio Ihara’s Singapore Shower piece glistening
under the sun.

Among the 445 newly imagined guest rooms, we stayed in the King Deluxe Suite. Coming in at 81
square metres, the suite exudes a contemporary residential vibe with a double terrace overlooking
the city. A king-sized bed connected to a walk-in wardrobe and the elegant bathroom was fitted with
Byredo bathroom amenities; a separate living area, a sizeable bar area and an additional restroom
filled the rest of the space. Thanks to its serene hues and calming palette of cream, sand, and muted
greens, it is a peaceful respite from the city’s hustle and bustle.

As an urban oasis, the hotel emphasises mindful practices for the body and soul. We highly
recommend the Sleep-to-Wake Ritual as it transforms the turndown service into a relaxed night
routine where you can take a hot, steamy botanical shower followed by an in-room guided sound
bath with a specially crafted pre-sleep tea made from a selection of native ingredients known for
their calming properties, curated by local foragers. To start your morning positively, head to Morning
Intention Sessions by the Pool.

With eleven restaurants and bars in Conrad Singapore Orchard, you can certainly undertake a
sumptuous epicurean adventure without even leaving the hotel. Don’t forget to make your
reservation at the One-Michelin-starred Summer Palace, which offers some of the best Cantonese
cuisine we have ever tasted. Executive Chef Liu Ching Hai’s experimental yet elegant Canton fare is
complemented by an equally excellent selection of artisanal Chinese teas guided by an in-house tea
sommelier.

To round up your day/night, head to the brilliant Manhattan bar. This is hotel drinking at its best.
Inspired by the 19th century’s Golden Age of cocktails and fine drinking, you’ll find a rebranded
cocktail menu inspired by the beats of Broadway made from top-notch artisanal spirits. You can also
explore the world of barrel-ageing cocktails in the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse filled with over 100
American oak barrels used for aging spirits and bitters. It is a decadent journey not to be missed.
