Last year, a bumper crop of designer collabs made the high street a hot spot. One of the best was Uniqlo: C, a Uniqlo and Clare Waight Keller collection for the retailer known for its superlative thermals, sleek design principles and timeless approach to what it calls ‘Lifewear’. The first collection sold like hot cakes – with the quilted coats and faux-leather half-moon bags flying off the shelves in September – and now she’s back with a second drop for spring 2024.
As with the first season, Uniqlo: C’s spring collection puts a premium on pieces that are as chic as they are well-constructed – and effortless to wear. ‘I wanted to explore the concept of movement through lightness,’ Keller said in the press release. ‘Working with ultra-light fabrications, I found a new perspective of proportions. Longer volumes play against cropped silhouettes. Fluidity and freshness were key elements of the spirit. I think that spring represents a time of transition where the seasons change, and our wardrobes need the same flexibility. I love the mix between tailored and relaxed styles. The feeling is effortlessly elegant with a youthful attitude that captures the lightness and ease of summertime.’

What Will Uniqlo: C Look Like?
Uniqlo: C’s latest collection has a breezy colour palette that feels right for spring, with vibrant yet wearable shades including poppy red, blush pink, aqua blue and army green, which can be mix-and-matched together. Last season’s trench coat was very popular – and has been reworked this season into an equally classic style that will be your catch-all coat when temperatures finally improve. There’s also utility jackets and a chic tailored blazer, not to mention relaxed knitwear, cropped tees, pleated dresses and stand-out accessories, including a long-brimmed baseball cap that we predict will do record sales and a puffy shoulder bag that maybe, just maybe, will rival the brand’s viral half-moon bag.
